Cookie Policy

This policy explains how umbryx.world uses cookie files and similar storage technologies.

Applies to umbryx.world — version posted on this page

This policy explains how umbryx.world uses cookies and similar storage technologies. It describes the types of cookies we use, what they do, and how you can manage them. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.

The same rules cover our GPU catalogue pages, the comparison views, and the store information pages on this site.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. They let the site remember your actions and preferences over time, such as language or form progress. Some expire when you close your browser; others persist for a set period.

A cookie is not a program, and it does not run on your device the way an application does. It is a short piece of text that a browser sends back to the site that set it, which is how a shop remembers that you already filtered a GPU list by power draw or that you were part-way through a comparison page.

Session cookies disappear when you close the tab or browser. Persistent cookies stay for the period set when they are created, then expire on their own. You can see which of either kind are currently stored on your device from your browser's privacy or site-data settings.

Short version

Cookies store settings and session details. They do not read files from your device, and they are scoped to the site that created them, unless a third-party service is involved.

Cookies we use

Three groups run on umbryx.world. Each one has a stated job, and none of them is used to sell your attention onward.

Strictly necessary

These keep the site working: page routing, security checks, and remembering that you submitted a form. Without them, core parts of the shop cannot function, so they are set whenever you use umbryx.world.

Functional

These remember choices you made, such as the filters you applied to a GPU list or a comparison you left open. They reduce repeated input, and you can clear them at any time from your browser.

Analytics

These tell us, in aggregate, which pages visitors reach and how they arrived. We use that to work out which GPU models and comparison pages are worth expanding, not to look at what any one visitor does.

Row descriptions are summaries; the detailed list is maintained on this page.

Why we use them

Necessary cookies keep the site operational and secure. Functional cookies reduce repeated input on your part. Analytics cookies help us see which GPU models and comparison pages visitors find useful, so we can improve the content. We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles of individual visitors.

A practical example: if a comparison page between two cards keeps getting abandoned early, that usually tells us the page is missing the power or sizing detail people came for. Analytics gives us that signal without identifying anyone.

Cookies in this shop do two quiet things: they hold your session together while you browse cards, and they tell us which pages earned a second visit.

No advertising profiles are built from this data.

Set by services we rely on

Third-party cookies

Some cookies may be set by services we rely on, such as analytics providers. These providers have their own privacy and cookie policies, which we encourage you to review. We do not control the cookies they set.

An analytics provider sees a page view the way a shop cameras sees a footstep past the door: that someone came in, not who they were or what they carried.

If you would rather not have those services set anything, your browser settings and the provider's own controls both let you opt out before or after the fact.

Third-party scope

Managing cookies

You can accept, refuse, or delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you block cookies from specific sites or all sites. If you disable necessary cookies, some parts of umbryx.world may not work correctly.

If you clear everything

Filters on a GPU list reset on your next visit, and any comparison you left half-built starts over. Nothing is lost from your browser that we hold elsewhere.

If you block necessary cookies

Session handling and security checks may fail, which can stop a page from loading or a form from submitting. That is a browser-level block, not something umbryx.world can work around.

If you block analytics only

Rest of the shop works as usual. We simply lose the aggregate signal about which GPU models and comparison pages are being read, and our content decisions rely on fewer numbers.

Where the controls live

Look under Privacy, Content settings, or Site data in your browser's settings menu. Mobile browsers put the same controls in the app's own privacy section.
